The Jews did not take kindly to Roman rules around those parts. Some agreed with Romans and most did not. The Jews led many rebellions against the Romans.

All of the rebellions were unsuccessful and eventually the Romans forced the Jews out of Roman rule. The Jews then scattered as far west as Spain and east to Central Asia. They were not allowed to return to Jerusalem.

Jesus left his home in Nazareth and began preaching. He traveled around Judea and Galilee, just north of Judea, preaching. He also assembled a group of 12 close followers called the disciples.

Peter and Paul were two mean who wrote most of the new testament. They were also big parts in the Christian religion. Paul originally hated Christianity and persecuted Christians. But one day Jesus came to him and he instantly became a Christian.

Christians believe that Jesus was the son of God and was sent to save people. They believe by accepting Jesus and his teachings that they could make it into heaven. Christians also believe in the Trinity including the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
